Overview
Salt Lake City publishes a dedicated firewatch program for sites temporarily without full fire protection or identified by the fire marshal as a public-safety concern. The responsible party must provide dedicated watch personnel. If it cannot, the city describes a firefighter-provided watch charged to the responsible party. Confirm arrangements directly with the department.
Who can perform fire watch in Salt Lake City?
Salt Lake City’s firewatch program requires dedicated personnel with no duties other than fire watch. Confirm the department’s current personnel and reporting instructions before starting. Private training does not replace the department’s requirements.
